Was there an alternate ending to the "Medium" season finale?

Boy, I am SO glad to know that our family is not alone... we noticed this too and were so confused! Wish I had the answer for you. I ume it was an alternate ending; but how 'cruel' to show this in a commercial and have it completely different in the show.
